These scanners have an automatic document feeder and are designed to scan a mix or A3 or A4 pages. A3 scanners are significantly more expensive and often faster than A4 document scanners and should be considered where there is a large percentage of A3 documents or very high volumes of A4 documents to scan. If there are low volumes of A3 documents a separate A3 flatbed and A4 document scanner will work out more cost-effective. As a guideline where the scanner speed is higher the automatic document feeder is generally larger. Many of the high end A3 document scanners have automatic document feeders that allow you to scan a full ream of 500 pages. Other features to consider are whether you require documents stamped (imprinted) to avoid duplicate scanning and whether barcode recognition is required. There are also software tools to identify a particular area on a form and “read” that area using software. They have extensive ranges and options for imprinting, barcode recognition and zone scanning. You might also consider Epson and Fuji Xerox where a combined A3 flatbed and A3 automatic document feeder is required.
